Christmas Paella

Ever since we took that wonderful trip to Barcelona a few years back, my husband has been making us beautiful paellas that we enjoy sharing with friends or at holiday time. Last night's paella was superb!

Happy Christmas

My husband surprised me Christmas morning with this aluminum tree that I had been wanting. He scoured ebay, got vintage ornaments separately and hung them all very early this morning. I have to say, I wept like a baby when I saw it!

I kind of like how it looks like this woman is doing yoga while wrapping her gifts. Good reminder to me to get a class in this week!

Sweet 16/black light/highlighter party

Have spent weeks preparing for my daughter's sweet 16. We had a black light/highlighter/glow party last night and it was a huge success. Here are some highlights! Got a big bang for our buck on a small budget!

Jackpot

Hit my favorite resale shops again today and scored this mint condition Heywood Wakefield nightstand for a mere $41.00. A similar model from the encore line I see online for $450-$800.00. Crazy..........Mine seems to have knobs so I'm not sure if it's just a poor cousin but I'm considering it a major coup nonetheless!

Disco Inferno

Not sure where I am going to put this yet but I have always wanted a bigger disco ball to hang from the ceiling all the time. Let's face it, life should always be a party. I got this one in TJ's and it was quite amusing how put off all the onlookers were who saw me purchase it. Folks just don't get my desire to have a good time!

Needing a bit more color!

We still have to paint all the trim and design the stained glass window that will be shining into the dressing room from the front stairs. I am thinking red for the accent color in the bathroom in towels and mat because even with the shower curtain, it's still looking a bit subdued for my liking.

GRADUATION

I know I've been really out of the blogosphere as of late, but as any parent of a high school senior knows, life has been absolutely insane! I am happy to report that all the many parties and events we planned and hosted this month (I think there were 4 or 5), were highly successful! Things are just starting to slow down. One more week of teaching and have already started to plan my fall dance schedule.

Tile is up

Tiling finished up over the weekend, it's all so shiny and pristine so far. I do love the spa feel but must confess that I although I don't miss my nasty old tub, I kind of miss the funky feel it had. I'm sure once I add some of my treasures, it will feel a bit more like me. Plumbing fixtures go in on wednesday!

Bliss

If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in your field of bliss, and they open doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.”~ Joseph Campbell in Reflections in the Art of Living: A Joseph Campbell Companion
