Makeover

This is the official "before" picture of my daughter's room before I transform it into a white, uncluttered, peaceful sanctuary (per her request). It served her well as a tween and young teen at the time but now, as a young woman, is looking for more of a grown up retreat to decompress from the demands of a busier life.

Stay tuned, much of the work has to be done while she is away over February vacation. I am very excited and have already made my Ikea and container store trips!

I have a few of these gorgeous enamel broaches but find that I don't really have the finesse to carry them off. My house style is funky but my fashion style is pretty subdued. I have never seen anything like this enamel bouquet though!! Love it!!!

You know you are a bad blogger when one of your closest friends says she is sick of looking at your Christmas paella. My lack of blogging doesn't reflect my lack of inspiration but more my preference for being in the moment. Lately, I've been lots of places where I thought I should have my camera, be taking pictures, etc. It just doesn't seem to be my forte in the midst of life and work to step out of it and actually document it. For now, here is a photo of the little elf that sits on my counter. I think she looks like baby New Year and she reminds me that every new year is a new beginning filled with possibilities. This year maybe I'll even become a more frequent blogger!
