Tile is up

Tiling finished up over the weekend, it's all so shiny and pristine so far. I do love the spa feel but must confess that I although I don't miss my nasty old tub, I kind of miss the funky feel it had. I'm sure once I add some of my treasures, it will feel a bit more like me. Plumbing fixtures go in on wednesday!

Prom Weekend

Big rite of passage here with lots of time and energy going into the Prom and hosting the after party sleepover. Luckily, my son said it was the best 17 hours ever!

Bathroom Update

Feeling like I have been a horrible blogger lately but with all the end of the year activities with two teenagers and one being a high school senior, I am truly "in over my head" with commitments and hostessing. The bathroom is coming along, tub, plumbing and electrical complete, just waiting for a few inspections, before the contractor can start closing everything up. Here is a preview of the gorgeous tile from the UK which will be an accent with the white subway. We plan to use it in the shampoo cut out in the shower and along the sink wall. Not sure how well you can see it but it is an opalescent! Can't wait to be looking at it during a long soak.

Meet Toto

Got my toto toilet delivered today. (Nothing like waiting around for that 4 hour window that Fed Ex gives). But, what a sleek model this is, no cleaning around the bolts at the bottom and I can't wait for that dual flush!

Blossom and Bill

First thing this morning, I saw on facebook that http://isakisak.blogspot.com was giving away free stationary to anyone who sent them images of their products that you own. Of course I had to send them a picture of their tray in my kitchen. They have told me that there are many more products coming that will feature their whimsical family members. It's no wonder their motto is Beautiful, happy things!

Well, I made an executive decision that there was no need to post a bathroom update as it really doesn't look that different. A few new support beams were added but it still mostly looks awful.

I'm hoping that by tomorrow night, I will have a makeshift floor.

The Party is over..........

Feeling a bit deflated. So far, all the work being done in the bathroom has been done to make it structurally sound. Have spent the day navigating deliveries, plumbers and tile. Can't wait until I see some headway. There should be some new pics posted tonight!

Birthday Present

This is the birthday present I got in the mail from my sister last week. I love it but since I'm not very good at accessorizing, I haven't worn it yet. I'm sure I'll figure something out!

Yesterday's find..........

Not sure what I am going to do with this yet, thought about recovering it in some of my 60's fabric but now thinking I might leave it as it's kind of fun as is. Feel free to advise:) Oh and btw, it was only $13.00!

Well, this gorgeous, sunny weekend is also providing a respite from all the bathroom construction work.
Unfortunately, it looks like some of the structural work will be more extensive than we had hoped. Not a good sign for my pocket book. Oh well, it has to be done and I like to think it is really good Karma fixing up an old house and leaving it more solid and beautiful for the next person. I can't bear to post a picture of what it looks like up there right now because it just adds to my financial anxiety. Instead I'm hoping to spend the day puttering somewhere to inspire me and refill my cup for the weeks ahead. Wishing everyone a creative and relaxing weekend!
